Quick Answer
Add styrene, acrylonitrile, butadiene, then styrene before mixing. Dispense one portion at each step using selector numbers 4, 3, 1, 4, then return the blue container to the intake and activate the machine to open the next door. For the We Were Here Tomorrow 3D resin recipe, the small player moves the container while the full-size player selects and dispenses each ingredient.
The 3D resin recipe mixing puzzle, Experimental resin notes recipe, 3D resin recipe 4-3-1-4, and 3D resin recipe styrene mixture all refer to this same resin station puzzle.
You encounter it in Research and Development. To carry out the recipe, you need one player moving the blue container beneath the nozzles and the other operating the selector and dispensing button.
How do you interpret the Experimental resin notes recipe?
Put styrene before and after the acrylonitrile and butadiene additions. The notes call for one portion of acrylonitrile followed by an equal portion of butadiene, with styrene added on either side of that pair.
The Experimental resin notes at the resin station contain the recipe instructions.
Shown at 62:22 in ZedaphPlays’s video.Read “before and after” as the order you add the ingredients. Start with styrene, add the middle pair, and finish with styrene again. You run the machine after collecting the complete mixture.
The nozzle labels identify ingredients; they do not give you the complete recipe or its order. Adding acrylonitrile, butadiene, and styrene once each misses the opening styrene addition and produces a failed mixture.
How do you mix the 3D resin recipe 4-3-1-4?
Select 4, 3, 1, 4 in that order, dispensing one portion into the blue container each time.
| Addition | Ingredient | Selector |
|---|---|---|
| First | Styrene | 4 |
| Second | Acrylonitrile | 3 |
| Third | Butadiene | 1 |
| Last | Styrene | 4 |
Line up the blue container
The small player moves the container beneath the styrene nozzle. Confirm that it is lined up before the full-size player selects 4 and dispenses the first portion.
Add the middle ingredients
Move beneath the acrylonitrile nozzle, then select 3 and dispense one portion. Next, move beneath the butadiene nozzle, select 1, and dispense an equal portion. Call out the ingredient and number together so you both know which addition comes next.
Finish with styrene
Return beneath the styrene nozzle and dispense one more portion with selector 4. This final addition completes the 3D resin recipe styrene mixture.
Return the container and activate the machine
Move the container back to the intake or mixing position where you originally collected it, then activate the machine. A success sound and the next door opening tell you the mixture worked.
Keep collecting ingredients until the final styrene portion is in the container. “Before and after” does not mean running the mixer between additions. You also do not need every substance on the selector: this recipe uses only styrene, acrylonitrile, and butadiene.
Why does the 3D resin recipe mixing puzzle have different names?
The names point to the same task through its note, machine, selector sequence, or repeated ingredient.
- 3D resin recipe mixing puzzle: you are collecting ingredients and feeding the mixture back into the machine.
- Experimental resin notes recipe: you are reading the Experimental resin notes that explain the order.
- 3D resin recipe 4-3-1-4: you are using the numbered selector to dispense the ingredients.
- 3D resin recipe styrene mixture: you are working out why styrene belongs at both the beginning and the end.
Once the successful mixture opens the door, continue with the Research and Development floppy disc size puzzle.
