Quick Answer

Light the electrical plant, connect its fruit to the wall receiver, then swap players to climb the spotted eggplant. Getting the power on does not open the way by itself: in We Were Here Tomorrow, this Xenobotany access step requires both a power connection and a climb followed by another jump. Prepare the three-pointed electrical plant with blue + purple, sunlight, and no water.

How Do You Reach the Xenobotany Climate Control Route?

Light the electrical plant, link its fruit to the wall receiver, then exchange players so your partner can climb the spotted eggplant and jump across. This puzzle is in Xenobotany, after the earlier plant-growing section. Before attempting the upper route, prepare the plants from their diagrams and arrange for one player to maintain the required light while the other works with the plant.

There are two separate problems here: getting electricity into the wall connection and getting a player onto the upper route. Connecting the power does not remove the need to climb. Likewise, reaching the top of a plant does not finish the route if you still need the additional jump.

If you are still working through the earlier growing and platform section, follow the Xenobotany plant platforms first. The climate control power connection and spotted eggplant climb belong to this later access step.

What Are the Xenobotany Electric Plants Recipes?

Use purple + yellow for the capped electrical plant, red + purple for the three-legged plant, and blue + purple for the three-pointed electrical plant. Match the shape before mixing the colors, because two plants can both look roughly like an eggplant while requiring different treatment.

The diagrams give you the color pair and the growing conditions. Read the water and sunlight instructions separately from the colors. A correct mixture still needs the conditions shown for that plant.

An electrical plant diagram: purple and yellow markers for the potion pair, a lightning warning, and a no-water sign.

Capped Mushroom-Like Electrical Plant

Combine purple + yellow and do not water it. Identify this plant by the small caps on its mushroom-like growths. Those caps distinguish it from the round plant with three points.

Three-Legged Plant

Combine red + purple. Look for the rounded, eggplant-like body with three legs underneath it. Use those legs as your identifying feature when describing it to your partner.

The three-legged plant and the spotted climbing eggplant are different plant descriptions. Do not carry the red + purple recipe over to the climbing step simply because both plants resemble an eggplant.

Three-Pointed Electrical Plant

Combine blue + purple, provide sunlight, and do not water it. This plant has a round body with three points extending from its top. Once grown, it supplies the electrical part of the access solution.

Keep the shape, mixture, and conditions together when giving instructions to your partner. Calling only for an electrical plant leaves room to confuse the capped plant with the three-pointed one.

How Do You Connect Xenobotany Climate Control Power?

Illuminate the electrical plant and connect one of its fruits to the wall receiver on the right of the plant light. The climate control display shows that it is offline because power is insufficient; the wall connection is where you need to direct the plant's electricity.

We Were Here Tomorrow electrical plant glowing inside a yellow light dome

The electrical plant lit up under the plant light. It only supplies power while the light stays on.

  1. Find the plant light and locate the receiver attached to the wall immediately to its right.
  2. Have your partner hold the light activation in place so the electrical plant is illuminated.
  3. Connect an electrical fruit to that wall receiver using the two ends of your linking tool.
  4. Keep the connection in place while you coordinate the next movement.

The light matters before you make the link. You need the illuminated plant supplying electricity, rather than just a connection between an unpowered fruit and the wall.

Both ends of the linking tool are occupied while you conduct power. You cannot use that same tool to pull yourself up at the same time. Releasing the connection also stops the power, so trying to make the same player handle both jobs leaves you stuck.

Leave the middle planter alone for this access step. It does not solve the power-and-climb problem, and working on it will not free the linking tool for movement.

How Do You Complete the Xenobotany Eggplant Climb?

Use the spotted, bumpy eggplant-shaped plant, exchange which player attempts the route, then climb and make the additional jump. The eggplant recipe is yellow + green, with sunlight required for growth.

Climbing the grown spotted plant. Its leaves and stalk are the route up.

  1. Identify the spotted eggplant-shaped climber rather than the three-legged plant.
  2. Exchange positions with your partner before repeating the climb.
  3. Grow the climbing plant and have the supporting player keep the required activation held.
  4. Climb the plant with the player now taking the upper route.
  5. From the elevated position, make the further jump across to reach the upper route and open the door.

If you can climb but cannot complete the crossing, change players rather than repeating the same attempt with the same arrangement. The successful route requires the exchange as well as the climb. Getting height is only part of the solution; you still need to move across from that height.

Keep your partner on the activation while you work through the climb and jump. Coordinate the movement before either player releases their part of the setup.

Once you are across, open the door on the upper route. For another puzzle, continue from the We Were Here Tomorrow puzzles directory.
