Puzzle

Quick Answer

Press Ring 4 → Ring 1 → Ring 5, matching the small circles around a larger circle, the outward-arrow crosshair, then the overlapping circles. This We Were Here Tomorrow Ring 4 1 5 sequence opens the corridor doors.

The Ring 4 Ring 1 Ring 5 code, Ring 4 circle symbol puzzle, Ring 5 overlapping circles puzzle, and Ring corridor 415 sequence refer to the same sequence or its individual symbols.

You encounter this puzzle in the Ring Corridor. Reach the circle-symbol clue and the rings with their buttons before entering the sequence with your partner.

How do you interpret the Ring Corridor circle symbols?

Read the clue as an ordered set of shapes, then match each shape to a numbered ring. The symbols appear on the outside of the rings; their buttons are on the inside.

Clue symbolMatching ring
Eight hollow circles around a larger circleRing 4
Crosshair with four outward arrowsRing 1
Overlapping shaded and hollow circlesRing 5

Describe the details to your partner rather than just saying “circles” or “arrows.” Similar shapes appear on other rings, so the arrangement and arrow direction matter.

How do you enter the Ring 4 Ring 1 Ring 5 code?

Press the ring buttons in the order 4 → 1 → 5 after matching the clue.

  1. Press Ring 4 first. Its symbol has eight small hollow circles arranged around a larger circle.

The Ring 4 symbol: eight small circles around a larger one.

  1. Press Ring 1 second. Look for a crosshair with four arrows pointing away from the center.

Ring 1 has the outward-arrow crosshair. Check the direction before pressing its button.

  1. Press Ring 5 last. The final clue is a pair of slightly overlapping circles, one shaded with horizontal lines and the other hollow.

The Ring 5 symbol: a horizontally lined circle overlapping a hollow circle.

For the middle symbol, choose the four arrows pointing outward. Ring 3 has eight outward arrows around a circle with a crosshair, so it is a different match.

Why does the Ring 5 overlapping circles puzzle look like Ring 2?

Ring 2 also has overlapping circles with horizontal lines, which makes it easy to choose the wrong final ring. Its striped circle consists only of horizontal lines, without an outer ring around it.

Ask your partner about that outline instead of relying on “the shaded circle is on the left.” The players' viewing directions can change how they describe left and right.

The sequence 4 → 1 → 2 is the mistaken match. If you chose Ring 2, start again with Ring 4, then Ring 1, and finish on Ring 5. Players who made this correction opened the doors.

Why is this called the Ring corridor 415 sequence or the circle symbol puzzle?

These names describe either the button order or the shapes you use to find it:

  • Ring 4 Ring 1 Ring 5 code: the numbered rings you press in order.
  • Ring 4 circle symbol puzzle: the first symbol, with small circles surrounding a larger one.
  • Ring 5 overlapping circles puzzle: the final symbol and its easily confused match.
  • Ring corridor 415 sequence: the location and the button order written together.

Completing the sequence opens the corridor doors, including the door beyond Ring 6. Continue with the Office of Tomorrow walkthrough for the next chapter.
